Game elements

From reading most of the article I can see where developers struggle and succeed while making games. One of the main issues that game companies have to go through is making the concept of a game, and example of this is rollers of the realm(https://www.phantomcompass.com/rollers-of-the-realm/). The company was small and had 4 main developers, the went with an idea of a pinball RPG which by gaming standards is a very odd combination but they made it work and ended up being approached by big triple A publishers.

another fundamental game element is that its fun, nobody wants a game that gets stale and is repetitive. This is up to the developers to keep the game as fun as possible for as long as possible. This truly applies to what type of game genre the developers are creating, for example the likes of league of legends, call of duty, battlefield and halo. These games have been huge titles through out the past 10 years and have been staples in the gaming industry, the reason there so popular is because of there longevity in keeping the audience attracted to the franchise and the popularity of the game, the game itself needs to be fun and not get boring over time, its needs to get the player wanting to come back and play more and more. This dose not usually happen for smaller indie developers and they usually get a lot less people playing there games. this is due to them being smaller developers, but few indie gaming companies have come out with very successful games such as hello games(/http://www.hellogames.org/ )with no mans sky but because the game was rushed and was falsely advertised the player base dropped very quickly(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLtmEjqzg7M), now with updates and DLC its back on its feet but its a prime example of how a game can be hyped up so much and have the player base die very fast at launch.
